INTRODUCTION

Welcome to Homeschool Days at Foster! Lansing Parks and Recreation has joined with local homeschool families to offer three (3) sessions of homeschool classes per year. Paid teachers and volunteer staff offer a broad variety of topics. If you have a subject you would enjoy teaching, please contact Beth Ambrose or Ann Merrifield. We are always looking for new classes and instructors!

THE BUILDING

In addition to the CADL library in the basement of the building and the playground in the back, we have secured the use of the large community room (room 213) each week of classes. The room is perfectly located; tucked away in the north east corner close to the elevator. This is where families can meet to talk, play, and have lunch. Please come and check it out! You can discover and/or you can share a wealth of homeschool experience, coupled with meeting new friends for your entire family.

FACEBOOK PAGE

Our Facebook page, “Homeschool Days at Foster,” is a great source to find class information from instructors and to notify families and class participants if Foster closes due to weather or if a class is cancelled for the day. The site is also a great place to find information on field trips or to post a field trip you'd like to coordinate and open to the homeschool community.

CLASS REGISTRATION

Although we have a staff of volunteer homeschool parents coordinating classes, the Facebook page, and this blog site, Lansing Parks and Recreation manages all class registration and collects all money due for the homeschool classes. Please note there are cancellation fee information on their website. Additionally, Ingham County residents and non-residents have separate class rates. If you register online verses telephonically or in-person, you will save $5 per class. Scholarships are available for City of Lansing Residents. The scholarship information is available on this site.

Any questions, please email Ann: tmerrifield@prodigy.net or Beth: ambrose.beth@gmail.com.
